Job Title: Junior Accountant                                                                                          Division: Fiscal Office

Location: 75 Park Avenue                                                                                                Reports to: Director of Finance

Employment Classification: Full-time                                                                     SOC Equiv. Code: 13-2011

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt                                                                                               Compensation Range: $29,000 – $32,000

 

Position Summary: Responsible for financial transactions of La Casa de Don Pedro by performing the following functions, either directly or through Accounting Assistants.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

 Analyze and monitor General Ledger Accounts

 Update general ledger schedules

 Prepare bank reconciliations

 Process journal entries

 Allocate budget via procurement

 Monitor Grants’ compliance

 Prepare financial reports as needed

 Monitor budgets for programs and development projects

 Prepare back up and supporting documents for funding source reports

 Prepare audit schedules

 Provide supporting documents to auditors

 Any other functions assigned by Director of Finance or Chief Financial Officer

Education and/or Experience:

 Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business preferred or Associates Degree in related field with two years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.

 

Other Requirements and Physical Demands:

 Excellent in MS Excel and knowledge of other MS Office programs and general aptitude with computer applications.  Knowledge of accounting software.

 Self‐starter and strong willingness to take initiative.

 Excellent organizational, presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.

 Detail oriented

 Professional business attire required

 Required to sit for long periods of time

 

Schedule:

 Monday through Friday (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m)
